Our LOGO!MAT 2-way Diverter is an innovative component to merge two conveyor tracks together or to split one conveyor track into two. The pallet gets diverted or merged actively in a 90 degree angle while keeping the pallet orientation.

The 2-way Diverter consists of a dual-corner assembly which can be moved electrically on a linear guide rail. For safety reasons, the electrical drive is done through a mechanical friction clutch to archieve low operation travel forces. Guarding is just necessary if it is required by the customers' safety regulations.

Both end positions are sensed by inductive sensors to ensure a pallet flow only if the double-corner is in the right location.

Covered fixed driven rollers are required in the area of the 2-way Diverter for safety reasons and to allow a proper transfer of the pallet in the turn.

LOGO!MAT L - Series: Stop Unit


The pneumatically operated LOGO!MAT Stop Unit is designed to arrest pallets in specific locations. The pallets push against the pneumatically controlled stop pin with their stop inserts on the bottom side of the pallet. An escapement mechanism prevents the pallet from bouncing and being manually pushed backwards. An internal cylinder pulls the pallet after the cushion always to one defined end position to create an accuracy of +/- 0.5 mm.

This controlled pulling of the pallet is done automatically and does not need to be controlled separately. In its home position the stop pin is always extended - even in case of a failure of the pneumatic system all pallets are stopped safely. To release a pallet the stop pin is pneumatically retracted. As soon as the pallet is released and the pallet present sensor loses its signal the stop pin can extend again. That allows staging several pallets with just one stop unit. This unit can also be used for accumulation: a pallet weight of 1,200 lbs. or up to seven pallets, not exceeding the max. weight of 1,200 lbs. can be stopped in a row.

Like every other component of the LOGO!MAT Transfer System our Stop Unit contributes to the high flexibility of the system. It is delivered as a complete pre-assembled and adjusted unit including sensor brackets, covers, mounting clamps and sensors as an option. The unit can be located in nearly any location of the roller conveyor with no limits by the roller location.

All rollers are configured around the Stop Unit. Replacing a Stop Unit can be done easily in a few minutes. (Please ask about our refurbish program.) Depending on the conveyor width, the pallet weight, the conveyor speed and the type of application two different types of Stop Units can be used:

LOGO!MAT Cushioned Stop Unit

stop-unit-cushionedWith a higher pallet weight or a faster conveyor, the LOGO!MAT Cushioned Stop Unit is used to stop the pallets softer. The pallet, which also contains an escapement mechanism, is stopped on the bottom side but because the stop unit is air cushioned the pallet is stopped softly and actively pulled to a defined end position. The damping as well as the pulling speed can be adjusted through the setting of the air flows. The cushioned Stop Unit has a defined end position which does not depend on the pallet weight or speed.

 

 

LOGO!MAT Non-cushioned Stop Unit


stop-unit-non-cushionedThe LOGO!MAT Non-cushioned Stop Unit can be used when the pallet weight and the conveyor speed are low. The pallet is stopped on the bottom side; an escapement mechanism prevents the pallet from bouncing back. Releasing the stop pin is the only control motion. Sensors can be used for pallet presence and stop pin up / down.

LOGO!MAT L - Series: Pallet Locate Unit

The LOGO!MAT Pallet Locate Unit provides a five times greater positioning accuracy than the LOGO!MAT Stop Unit alone.
 
The LOGO!MAT Pallet Locate Unit was specifically developed for semi-automatic or automatic workstations where robots perform tasks on the work piece and the pallet has to be positioned exactly.
This cost effective component consists of a pneumatic cushioned stop unit and a pneumatically driven index pin that engages into one of the rear index bushing on the bottom side of the pallet. Using this setup, the pallet is positioned accurately in x- and y-direction within ± 0.1 mm.

Since the index bushings are directly mounted to the tooling plate, the plate gets positioned without any additional play. The locate pin is spring loaded in the up position. It can be lowered pneumatically and raised by spring pressure. Or it can be double acting as well to get more indexing pressure for heavier pallets. Two inductive sensors (M8) can be used to detect the position of the index pin. Those sensors are not included in the standard package, but are available upon request; the sensor brackets are included in any case.

The stop unit and the index pin are installed on a separate mounting plate therefore the distance between the stop unit and the index pin can be adjusted for every individual configuration and operation.

The entire unit can be moved to another position even after the commissioning of the transfer system. Every LOGO!MAT Stop Unit can be adapted with a LOGO!MAT Locate, if the repeat accuracy of the pallet is required in the future.

The LOGO!MAT Pallet Locate Unit is a very reasonable component to ensure pallet positioning.

LOGO!MAT L - Series: Lift & Rotate Unit

Lift Rotate in ConveyorIn addition to precise pallet positioning within ± 0.1 mm, the LOGO!MAT Lift & Rotate Unit offers the ability to turn and position the pallet in 90 degree increments so the work piece can be accessed at every side. The indexing plate lifts the pallet pneumatically up to a defined height. Afterwards the pallet can be turned manually or automatically by an electric motor and locks in position.

The LOGO!MAT Lift & Rotate Unit includes a standardized pneumatic cushioned LOGO!MAT Stop Unit mounted on the same base plate as the entire Lift & Rotate Unit to archive a defined distance between the Stop Unit and the indexing pins. This allows moving and installing the Lift & Rotate Unit in almost every position in the entire conveyor system – even afterwards with no adjustment work involved.

For the precise positioning of the pallet, the pallet gets stopped above the indexing plate and lifted pneumatically via indexing pins in the same way the LOGO!MAT Lift & Locate Unit engages into the pallet. After the pallet is lifted on the indexing plate it can be rotated manually or automatically in both directions without rotation limitations. The rotation gets locked every 90-degrees via a pneumatic shot pin. Adjustments are available on request.

The manual rotation of the LOGO!MAT Lift & Rotate Unit slows down using a spring loaded, adjustable wheel before the unit locks. With the automatic LOGO!MAT Lift & Rotate Unit the rotation is done via a friction clutch that limits the rotating force for a high level of safety.

The LOGO!MAT Lift & Rotate Unit is always designed for the maximum pallet weight stated for the roller conveyor; however, pressing operations with a high torque or high forces have to be avoided.

The operational safety of the LOGO!MAT Lift & Rotate Unit can be improved by using an optional rod lock unit. Safety covers are standardized for the mechanic to protect it against dirt or outside influences, or secure it against reaching into. The Lift & Rotate Unit is also optionally available with RFID Reader provisions that are designed for read / write operations in all possible station conditions.

The LOGO!MAT Lift & Locate Unit enables pallet location precisely within ± 0.05 mm in x-, y- and z-direction. The Lift & Locate Unit includes a standardized pneumatic LOGO!MAT Stop Unit mounted on the same base plate as the entire Lift & Locate Unit to archieve a defined and set distance between the stop unit and the indexing pins. This allows moving and installing the Lift & Locate Unit easily in almost every location in the entire conveyor system – with no adjustment work involved. Placing this component in an existing conveyor is also no problem and the mechanical work gets completed within less than one hour.

For precision positioning of the pallet, the pallet is stopped above the indexing plate and lifted pneumatically through close tolerance indexing bushings. Two index pins engage into the hardened index bushing on the bottom side of the pallet so that the pallet is located and positioned accurately. By actively pushing against a defined hard stop, we archieve an additional stiffness on the lifted plate, leading to a higher degree of accuracy. The standard lift of the pallet is just 3 mm above the roller level, but strokes up to 350 mm can be realized on request.

The LOGO!MAT Lift & Locate Unit is always configured for the maximum pallet weight stated for the roller conveyor plus a safety factor, however, pressing operations with a high torque or high forces have to be avoided.

The operational safety of the Lift & Locate Unit can be improved by using an optional separate clamping unit. This unit can be also retrofitted later on. Safety covers are standardized for the mechanic to protect it against dirt or outside influences, or secure it against reaching into. LOGO!MAT L - Series: Diverter Unit


Our innovative Diverter technique enables you to connect different conveyor zones effectively and allows pallets to turn off and on to another perpendicular conveyor track. The either pneumatically or electrically driven pivoting arm swings into the conveyor track and directs the pallet on to an adjoining track. In the case that the pallet should not turn, the diverter arm stays in the closed position or moves out of the conveyor track so that the pallet is able to continue straight.

In the area of the Diverter, fixed driven rollers are used to make sure that the pallet passes the Diverter. The spaces between these driven rollers are filled in with protective covers for safety reasons. The speed of the Diverter arm is adjustable with air flow or a frequency converter.

The LOGO!MAT Diverter can also be fairly easily installed in the future if there is a need to expand a conveyor line.

LOGO!MAT L - Series: Junction Unit


Our innovative Junction enables you to connect different conveyor zones effectively and allows merging two perpendicular conveyor tracks. A LOGO!MAT Junction consists of a free pivoting arm that swings into the conveyor track and directs the pallet on to an adjoining track. It also allows a pallet to continue straight in the closed position. It gets operated by the pallet itself and doesn’t need to be powered or controlled.

To ensure that the pallet safely passes the Junction, the rollers in the Junction areas are fixed driven rollers. The spaces between these are filled in with protective covers for safety reasons.

The Junction can also be fairly easily installed in the future if there is a need to expand a conveyor line.
